Ventilated FIBC bulk bags are heavy-duty industrial packaging containers engineered specifically for bulk commodities that require continuous airflow during transit and storage. Standard polypropylene bulk bags feature a dense, solid weave that seals off atmospheric circulation, which can cause moisture accumulation, condensation, and subsequent material degradation (such as molding or rotting) in organic or moisture-producing products. The ventilated architecture resolves this by incorporating parallel ventilation strips (breathable stripes) across the body fabric. These strips consist of heavy-duty, open-weave yarn columns that allow external air to circulate freely through the cargo, while maintaining the structural tensile strength required to safely support payloads of 1.0 to 1.5 tons.
When warm or moist products are packed into airtight containers, cooling temperatures cause moisture to condense on the inner walls. Ventilated strips allow moisture vapor to escape continuously, eliminating internal dampness.
For products like firewood, timber segments, and certain mineral chunks, the open-air design allows the material to continue drying naturally while stored inside the bags, increasing product quality before processing.
Continuous airflow destabilizes the stagnant, high-humidity environments required for mold, fungi, and bacterial colonies to propagate, preserving product integrity over long shipping durations.
Unlike standard netting bags that compromise on load capacity, ventilated bags alternate open-weave strips with heavy-weight solid panels. This ensures the container does not stretch excessively or sag under 1,500kg of load.

Biomass & Forestry Products: Transporting and curing wholesale firewood, timber off-cuts, wood pellets, and bark shredding where rot prevention is mandatory. Coarse Agricultural Commodities: Storage and packaging for onions, potatoes, nuts, and bulk animal feed ingredients that require respiration during transit. Moist Minerals & Building Materials: Bulk delivery of wet quartz sand, damp gravel, or mineral aggregates that need to drain or dry during open-air warehousing.
| Performance Metric | Ventilated (Breathable) FIBC | Standard Sealed FIBC |
|---|---|---|
| Air Exchange Capacity | High (Continuous lateral and vertical convection) | Low to Zero (Traps air and humidity inside) |
| Moisture Vapor Retention | Prevents condensation buildup | High risk of internal water sweating |
| Powder Containment | Unsuitable for fine powders (Will sift through lines) | Excellent for ultra-fine chemical particles |
| Liner Compatibility | Incompatible with liners (Liners block air lines) | Highly compatible with PE or Aluminum Foil liners |
No. Ventilated bulk bags feature open-weave air lines that allow fine particles to sift through. They are strictly designed for coarse granules, chunks, or fibrous bulk items. For fine chemical additives or flame retardants, you must use a standard sealed bag with sift-proof seams, or a Type C Conductive Bag if explosion risks exist.
Because ventilated bags allow external air in, they also allow rainwater in. If stored outdoors, they must be placed under a waterproof, breathable canopy or staging roof. However, our raw fabric is treated with specialized UV-stabilizing additives to prevent the polypropylene from becoming brittle under direct solar radiation.
No. The air lines are woven into the fabric structure dynamically during the manufacturing phase on the loom, not cut out afterward. The solid vertical panels run parallel to the air lines and handle the structural tension, ensuring the bag satisfies standard 5:1 or 6:1 Safe Working Load margins.
